Well, in general yes, as a brand Peugeot is considered generally reliable these days. However, they are still plagued with the classic French electrical problems of the 80s and 90s as well as a range of other snags and larger problems. Very few car brands are without some issues so it is somewhat par for the course.
Claimed fuel economy varies from around 39mpg, to just over 56mpg for WLTP standards – a reasonable set of figures for the class of car, meaning low fuel bills.
Peugeot was the last French automaker to sell cars in the U.S., but it hasn't operated dealers here since the late 1980s. Citroën puttered out of the American market in 1974. Both French brands have relatively strong footholds in Europe and South America, and Peugeots are even sold as far north as Mexico.
No U.S. Comeback for Peugeot, Stellantis CEO Tavares Says. Stellantis has a strong presence in the U.S. through its legacy brands Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. Given the company's relative strength in the U.S. market, CEO Carlos Tavares sees no need to add Peugeot to the mix.

They can last 400–500,000 miles of you look after them. That doesn't mean pussyfooting them either - diesels like to work hard, but like any engine, they benefit from timely and good maintenance.

Is Peugeot 3008 underpowered?
It's refined at low speeds, pulls strongly in all of its six gears – despite 1.2-litres being on the small side for a five-seat SUV – and when you're cruising on the motorway, the long-striding sixth gear never leads it to feel underpowered – and it positively begs to be driven hard.

Peugeot 3008 reliability
After a mightily impressive second place out of 75 cars in our 2020 survey, the 3008 finished in 13th place in our 2022 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey.
Peugeot says that the 508 PSE can complete a 0-60mph sprint in 5.2 seconds, and travel a maximum of 26 miles on just electric power. This is the most expensive model that Peugeot has ever sold, and by current plug-in hybrid standards, that all-electric range is middling.
The 3008 makes its extra size and height feel genuinely useful though, and with its surprisingly low kerb weight and lithe handling, it's not hamstrung by its additional heft over a Peugeot 308. It offers so much more than a 308, in fact; its interior and wealth of tech are particular highlights.

The 3008 is also easy to drive around town, while it's impressively quiet and civilised on the motorway. The Peugeot 3008 has a very good driving position, a lot of space and a lovely interior. The engine is powerful enough and maintenance is a reasonable price too.
As above, the most common faults seem to be electrical, although failures of the heating and ventilation systems are also known issues. The most expensive problems seem to involve the diesel injectors. If these fail, they can cost a frightening amount to replace.
